The old Asbury School building, located at 221 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, was rehabilitated into a resource center for students in the county.

ARC  was the brainchild of Asbury United Methodist Church and the United Way. Local businesses, community leaders and volunteers have helped with the donations, cleaning and rehabilitation of the building.

Many of the rooms within the ARC have been transformed into store-like environments for Lincoln County parents and their children and youth  to browse for clothing, shoes,  and even baby clothes and necessities on several shopping days throughout the year.

The mission of the Asbury Resource Center is to provide clean, age appropriate clothing and hygiene items to children and youth in our community.  Access to basic hygiene items and appropriate clothing can have a meaningful impact on a child’s confidence and well being. When children feel good about themselves and have the things they need , they are better prepared to participate in school and engage positively with others.

The ARC is always in need of volunteers and donations, For more information, call the church at 704-735-6448. There is an outdoor bin at the ARC for you to drop off items.
